Course Overview
In this yearlong, 10-unit course, students will add complexity to their ability to communicate in Spanish. The main focus will be on communication (speaking, writing, listening, and reading), as students make an exciting move from using words and basic phrases to formulating creative, personal, and descriptive ideas. Students will continue to learn about the rich culture (art, music, food, geography) and the various communities that compose the Spanish-speaking world. Additionally, students will make more in-depth comparisons their own native language to Spanish by studying its technical and grammatical aspects. Students will also deepen their understanding of outside disciplines by making connections through their study of Spanish. This course further is designed to work in concordance with our three ESLRs (Expected School-wide Learning Results): Effective Communicators, Effective Problem Solvers, and Effective Citizens.
